Some pretty good updates; too bad Gmail is better anyway. 
In general, maybe Gmail is better, but it's still far from perfect.
Gmail doesn't offer the ability to block addresses. Hotmail and Yahoo have provided this for years but Gmail can't be bothered with adding it.
Gmail also doesn't let you sort messages, doesn't let you implement filters in a specific order, doesn't have separate firstname/lastname fields in the address book, doesn't let you change the color scheme, doesn't offer a paid ad-free option, doesn't offer IMAP access, doesn't have a notepad feature, and doesn't let you turn off conversation mode. Oh, and they yank your chain by offering a "Send mail as" feature, which seens great at first but confuses the hell out of your friends when they get a "From blahblah on behalf of yadayada" message from you.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great service, but I don't understand why people insist that Gmail is perfect and make excuses for its flaws. It's e-mail, not a cult.
