I saw Max's post above in another thread, and I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's top 3 movies are of the year so far. So I moved it into it's own post. :)

I would say my top 3 are:

1. The Bourne Ultimatum
2. Transformers
3. Live Free or Die Hard

When I saw the post, I thought I was going crazy for a moment. I thought, "What the heck, I don't remember making a post like this...!"  :D

1. 'The Bourne Ultimatum' as well.
2. 'Sunshine', was a limited release, see my comment to todays blog post about downloading about why I download limited releases. This one was barely even a limited release really, opened months ago in the UK and did well, barely playing anywhere here when released, was only way I was going to see it.
3. Uhhh, have to think what else came out this year, a tossup between '300' and '28 Weeks Later'.

1.  Bourne Ultimatum
2.  Live Free or Die Hard
3.  Transformers

We ditched movies about mid-year and got into TV series. We hadn't seen 24, ever... so we started with season 1 and worked our way up until the current season. There's so much action in that series, we never felt a need to go see a movie! Once we finished all of those, we moved on to Prison Break which once again was really good.  All of those shows will be starting up again come January, so we probably won't be seeing many movies again until Summer!

I will have to go with

1. Live Free or Die Hard
2. Bourne Ultimatum
3. Hot Rod...Not a "great" movie, just made me laugh SO hard I had to include it.

I saw I am Legend and I was disappointed. It was not nearly as good as the hype suggested.

I couldn't agree more. I thought it was average in every way (except Will Smith's acting). And the infected sucked.

Yeah..the infected were not nearly as scary as the hoards were in the Omega Man movie from the 70's.

Wow, I really wanted to see I am Legend because it looked good from the preview. Glad I didn't spend the money now.

Me too. I was close to going. Thanks for the heads up on this one. I'll wait for DVD and rent.. after it's no longer 'new release'.

Agreed on 'I Am Legend' too. Will Smith's performance in it was pretty amazing, its no easy task carrying a scene when you're the only character for an hour, and while it was no Tom Hanks in 'Castaway', he gave an amazing performance. Other then that, yea, it kinda dragged, and, wasn't all that exciting even in the exciting parts, and I found the whole cheery happy ending pretty damn cheesy. Anyone whose read the book, this is the first adaptation of it to actually carry the book's actual title too, which made people, or at least me, to believe that it would be closer to the actual book then the others have been, but anyone whose read it and actually knowsss what the title is actually referring to, knows it was not a happy cheery ending. No, he is not the legend because he discovered the cure, nope, not even remotely freakin close, they totallyyyyy changed the ending removing ALL meaning of what the title actually refers to. But even if I hadn't read the book, I would be still be kinda disappointed by it. It was ok, but not in any rush to see it again.
