Whatever happened to that browser?
« on: June 11, 2007, 12:22:06 PM »
A while ago a new browser surfaced that claimed you can browse without leaving any tracks. I don't recall all the specifics but I think it was discovered that it didn't do any of that and instead made money by redirecting every search to it's sponsors. It was based on Internet Explorer I think. There were 2 colors you could download (a silver or a black skin). Anyone remember the name of it?

Not Firefox. It was some browser that made the news for like a week and then a bunch of anti-spyware companies said it was a spyware browser and told people not to use it.

I remember it too but can't remember the name of it. It disappeared totally after a week cause its home page, that was unchangeable, was all sponsored searches and links.

Edit : Found it. Was called Browzar. An article about it here.
