This fits in every category, so feel free to move it if ya like... Currently I use Newshutch. Its stupefyingly fast , easy to use and gorgeous too. I used to be a Thunderbird fan, but Outlook/Thunderbird style clients just irritate me! I also tried various other firefox extension based readers, Google Reader, Netvibes and a few others before I found Newshutch. What does everyone else use? Any recommendations?

I use Google Reader, but that Newshutch looks nice. I like the userscripts I've made for Google Reader too much to use something else right now. I think I use too much of Google's stuff

I think this one best fits in the Web 2.0 category because most people are probably using a website to do the managing.
I have had several people email me regarding Newshutch so I will probably be writing an article on it soon. As for myself I use the freeware FeedReader.com because I like software based readers better. I get quicker access to news and more configurability.

My online news reader is Google Reader (which I rarely check) and my standalone app is RSSOwl. But in reality, I just check m Firefox Live Bookmarks. I'm not big on reading all that news (I'm subscribed to 250+ feeds in gReader and RSSOwl )

I forgot to break down the feed readers in our Anniversary post but this is what the top-ten most used feed readers (from Sunday which is typically a little lower than normal) are for the CyberNet Blog: Guess that explains why such a large percentage of the visitors come from Firefox.

I use Flock for my feeds, but view the forums in Firefox.

I never got on with netvibes as a feedreader. I don't think it would cope with the amount of feeds i use. Also, does it support OPML import?

Netvibes does support OPML import...I have used it in the past. If you have a ton of feeds, it is possible to organize them since Netvibes lets you create different tabs...It just wasn't good enough for me though since you can't tag or star items for later reading.

I use one called Snarfer. It doesn't have a butload of features like some of the others do, but its light and its very fast and it does what I need it to. And it doesn't need Java or .Net Framework like many standalone readers do these days.

I use Newshutch for a long time now, I have not found a better RSS reader than newshutch. It is fast, simple (not cluttered) and just works. The only problem with NewsHutch is that it does not support podcasts. I use Google Reader for all the podcasts, but for RSS new, nothing beats NewsHutch.

Podcasts are a bit of a pain really. I prefer to watch them on my pc, so my broadband connection can do something else. iTunes is a great way to view podcasts and video casts
