Pieter,

In such a short time, I also agree that your knowledge of Linux is very impressive.

Wow, only four months! They always say you learn best hands-on. Books are good for some things, but generally for myself, I learn best when I do it myself and figure it out on my own.

Just four months Pieter! I would have guessed that you were using Linux for a few years.

Thanks, but I'm not that smart. These people are the real gurus. Seriously, Ubuntu has the best OS support forum I've ever seen. These Microsoft employees are too busy to deal with everyone's Windows problems.

I agree with you here. Several times I posted questions in the Ubuntu forums, and they were on top of it right away. Within several minutes, the answers started coming.

I don't know, you are right there.  And to be totally honest, I saw how close you and I both were and the Testosterone shot up and I could not let you get to 500 before me.  So I did some posting I was going to do later just so I would get there first.  :P

I was late for an appointment because of it though!  :o

I've seen similar stories before. Community-maintained drivers are sometimes way better than the default manufacturer driver.

Another thing that I like about Ubuntu is the plug-and-play support. On Windows, you have to wait half a minute before you can start using hardware for the first time (I think we've all seen that balloon tip saying something like "Windows has found new hardware, installing driver..."). On Linux, you can plug in hardware and start using it immediately. Wonderful!
