On one of the spam messages that got deleted, Max wanted to know what the PR stood for that was posted after each of the links. Some of the links would say things like PR4 or PR6.

That is simply the PageRank of the site being linked to, and that PageRank is decided by Google. It is on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest. Few sites actually have a rank as high as 10, but the ones that do really deserve it. The algorithm for how PageRank works isn't really known, but a lot of people try to guess how it works:

Ah! Thanks for pointing that out Ryan. I knew what PageRank was, I just didn't realize that that's what PR meant in that context (the spam thread).
