Google Notebook Firefox 2 problem
« on: November 24, 2006, 11:04:41 AM »
I don't know whether this is a problem with my Google Notebook page or Firefox 2.

Every time I try to edit a note I have saved in Google Notebook (google.com/notebook), it won't let me. I click on edit (or on the gray area to bring up the edit screen) and it becomes an edittable field. But I can't erase anything and I can't type anything in that note field. Also, if I try to add a note, I start typing something in and it does a Quick Find (a Firefox feature for those that don't know- this finds text on the page with pressing CTRL-F. Just start typing). Anybody know what's wrong?

I am running Firefox 2 on Windows XP and I have NoScript, but it is set to allow all Google pages.

bdawg923,

I'm also running firefox 2 on a XP machine and I'm not having you problems with notebook.
It could be a conflict with one of your extensions. Try running firefox in safe mode and see if you have no problem.
If there is no problem in safe mode then.................
Try disabling all you extensions and use notebook. ; then turn your extensions on,
one at a time, until you do have the problem. You will then know which extension is causing the trouble.

It's a lot of work but maybe it will help.

Best Regards

I just checked and I don't have any problems editing notes with the extension in Firefox 2. I have had problems before where Firefox just won't let me enter text into any fields on a page and it does a "Find As You Type" every time. Restarting Firefox has always solved the problem for me though. Maybe you should try disabling the "Find As You Type" feature located in the options to see if that lets you enter text into the Google Notebook.

@Quibbler: I would do that and it's probably one of my extensions, but I can't part with any of them.  :)
I'll just use Google Notebook in IE7.

@Ryan: Nope, tried that and it doesn't work. It just leaves a text field I can't type it.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
