Went to movies today.

Saw Pirates of the Caribbean : At Worlds End
Was good. I liked it. But its definitely got its flaws. Won't spoil anything, but just say two things. Its a long movie, at almost 3 hours, and it just feels like 4, as it just kind of drags on at points. And it was a little hard to, keep up with, at times. Every single character is scheming against the others with their own agenda, I mean every major one, and its a little hard to keep track of. But overall, I still liked it. The huge action scene at the end, Black Pearl vs. Flying Dutchman / Jack Sparrow vs. Davey Jones, was amazing.

And also finally saw 28 Weeks Later.
It was Great ! Its basically your standard zombie movie, but its not. They're not even really zombies, they're not dead, and they don't really eat other people. They're just infected with a virus, the rage virus, an experimental bio-weapon gone wrong, the first explained what it actually is a lot more, that just turns them, almost instantly upon infection, into totally psychotic, extremely aggressive, killing machines. My girlfriend actually hated it when she saw it two weeks ago, she likes zombie movies too, but just never saw the first and was totally not expecting the extreme aggressiveness / almost brutality of them. Its just not your standard zombie movie, it really redefines the genre. Anyway, if you saw and liked the first one, you'll absolutely love this one. Its just much more, better written, better filmed, more dramatic, more emotional even. I absolutely loved it.

Saw Pirate on Friday night and agree... way too long! First I got really sleepy during the middle when it was kinda slow, then I just couldn't sit still. Finally at the end when everything started to pick back up I got into it again. I thought it was great... just a bit long. I also thought it was a little hard to keep track of what was going on. Still good though, but I think the first one is still my favorite.

Saw it today and thought it was the best of the three.  Yes it was a bit long (no worse than the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings Movies), but it didn't seem like I was in  the theater for 3 hours though.  I used the last of my free passes from work to see this.  After I saw what the normal price ($9.50) was I remember why I don't see new release movies in the theaters. $3 for the discount theater is a good deal and the  movies are only a few months old if even that.  TMNT must have really bombed in the normal theaters as it is already showing at my discount theater.

Did get to see the trailer for the Transformers Movie, not sure if I'll see it or not.  I was impressed with the trailer for Ocean's 13 and will likely see that if I can get some more passes at work or when it comes to discount theater.  Loved Ocean's 11 but was disappointed with Ocean's 12.

Saw Pirates 3 today and I really enjoyed it.  There is a slow part toward the middle of the movie like everyone else here that has seen it has said.  I still think the first one was the best.

Now, who believes there will be a 4th one?

@OMD: I think they left enough room for a fourth one, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

@Al: I'm really excited for Ocean's 13- I've liked both so far.... so I'll definitely be seeing this one when it comes out.

I think there will be a Pirates of the Caribbean 4 since they ended it in a way that lets them continue working on it. I'm still having a tough time deciding if the third one was better than the first. As xpgeek said, that last fight seen was pretty amazing and I think it beat out everything in the first movie.

@Ryan - I agree with yo and xpgeek on the last fight scene.  It was just amazing and really exciting, kept me on the edge of my seat.

Saw Pirates yesterday. That was the weakest film I have ever seen!! There was soo much plot you cant keep on top of it, I like complicated films, that wasnt complicated, it was ridiculous. The fight scenes were poor. They sold out with the rating, they could have made it a little more realistic and gone up a rating band. Its 12A here, I think it should have been a 15.

That stupid part with the maelstrom at the end was pathetic, unrealistic and over long. They made Kiera Knightly common, shes meant to be posh. SHe was also far tooo polished, her skin was a constant orange throughout the whole film.

/rant....for now

I do agree with that, I noticed about halfway throught the movie that no matter what happened her face was always in perfect condition.
