Best Movie of 2007
« on: February 24, 2007, 03:29:23 PM »
Seeing as it is 2007 now, I thought I would start this topic.

I have only seen a couple movies so far this year.  I just saw Ghost Rider and while it is not award winning caliber, it was a fun, entertaining movie with a good story line.  So for me, so far it is the best movie I have seen in 2007.

I will be going to see The Astronaut Farmer tomorrow.

Ryan and I just went to see The Astronaut Farmer last night... and it was good. Predictable.. but good. I liked it :) I'd still give best movie of the year so far to The Ghost Rider... but like you, I've only seen a few movies.

I hated Ghost Rider. I really liked Breach actually. 2007 is going to be an excellent movie year:
300
Transformers
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (let's hope it's better than 2)
Spiderman 3
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

First of, I never plan on seeing Ghost Rider ever.  As for the movies Max listed, the two I am looking forward to the most are Spiderman 3 and The Order of the Phoenix.  Spiderman 2 was fantastic, and The Goblet of Fire was a remarkable improvement over the previous films.  I am hoping that these movies will further enhance their respective series.

As for 300, Transformers, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3, I am skeptical, but not pessimistic.  I'll just wait and see how they turn out.

I am a huge Spiderman fan and when Spiderman 3 comes out it will be pretty exciting for me. From the previews that I have seen I think it will be even better than the first two, which is definitely big since most movies in a series seem to get worse as they go on.

When I was just seeing Astronaut Farmer there was a preview for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and having been a huge fan of them in my childhood I do have to admit that it looked like it would be an entertaining movie. Probably not that great but I'll be tempted to go see that as well. :)

Spiderman was my favorite comic growing up, along with Iron Man.

I too will be seeing Spiderman 3 when it releases and expect it to be better than the previous 2, since seeing the previews.

Question time...

Who has seen the movie "Wild Hogs"?  If you have, what did you think of it?

It is currently the top movie at the US Box office and has a 6.1 out of 10 rating on IMDB.  I have 2 friends that said it is very funny.  However, I have heard that it has gotten poor reviews.  I do not take a lot of stock in "professional" reviewers though.

Well, I haven't seen it yet but from what I have heard it is funny.  I don't go by reviews either, if gets a bad review then I know I'll I like it. X-P

I have it in my Netflix queue because I've always thought Martin Lawrence was funny; even going back to his old TV show.

I don't have high hopes for it though.

As for critics, I personally never pay attention to them.

I haven't even heard of Wild Hogs before. My friends and I just had a quick discussion about movies tonight and they pretty much determined that I'm far from a movie buff. After I told them that I haven't seen any of the Star Wars yet they essentially said I was banned from society. :(
