The IRC.mozilla.org qdb
« on: February 20, 2007, 03:18:17 PM »
This site is a collection of about roughly 1900 quotes taken from actual IRC sessions on irc.mozilla.org.  You can also rate these quotes (thumbs up or down).  A couple of my favorites:

Quote
#1696
<Lucy> omg, seeing the word "virgin" reminds me, the other day I could *not* say version
<Lucy> but I was talking about versions
<mkanat> Lucy: As in "How many virgins do I have to support?"
<Lucy> mkanat: yes
<Lucy> "what virgin is it?"
<Lucy> "on the old virgins this didn't happen"
<mkanat> "Yeah, they were always STD-free. The new virgins come pre-STD'ed."
<Jesse_> i use the nightly virgins
<Jesse_> the process of making a new virgin is quite interesting

Leave it up to Mozilla to create a site with quotes from an IRC. Why am I not surprised. ;)

Reading through some of them is pretty entertaining. How about this one:
Quote
<jX> sayrer: No, seriously, they have a legal obligation to provide shareholder value.

<jX> IE, Google can't tomorow say "We're going to sell everything and buy toilet paper for African children!"

<Jesse> that would be a LOT of toilet paper
or this one:
Quote
<shaver> humans are obsolete

<sheppy> Speak for yourself. :)

<mrbkap> Then why are we still patching Mozilla by hand?

<crowder> mrbkap: Because the computers tell us to
or this one:
Quote
<biesi> it seems to me that finding something wrong in mail code is like finding hay in a haystack
and lastly this one:
Quote
<sayrer> actually, that will still be ugly

<sayrer> but better than what I have now

<shaver> that's what my wife said when I proposed :(
Man, that is some funny stuff. Who would have thought that geeks have a personality?

I loved this one, I could see the commercial... 8P

Quote
<hyatt> i can't get the windows xp disk out
<hyatt> and my mac is now stuck in a mode where it wants to boot it
<hyatt> so i don't even know how to recover my mac
<Pavlov> hyatt: take it to the apple store and tell them you're david hyatt
<MacDome> hyatt: http://guides.macrumors.com/Force_Eject_a_Stuck_CD_or_DVD
<hyatt> the fact that there even has to be a guide for a problem that CANNOT EVEN OCCUR ON A PC points out how lame this is
<hyatt> "Hi, mmm-fmmm--fff."  "And I'm a PC.  What's wrong, Mac, you seem to have something stuck in your mouth?" "Mfff-mmffff!"  "Ah, when a disk gets stuck in me, you can just press the eject key on the drive." "Mffff! Mfff!"
