Burning ISO in Vista
« on: January 30, 2007, 08:06:30 PM »
Does anyone know if and how you would burn an iso in Windows Vista???  Is this even possible?  I know you can burn files to a disc, however, I need to burn an ISO that came from Microsoft and currently in Vista, Nero fails on the burn.

Give this a try. It says Vista, but RC1, but I haven't tried it yet myself to see if it works on RTM.

Other then that, just try another program. I use Ashampoo burning studio instead of Nero.

I actually never had problems with burning CD's or ISO's in Vista. It must depend on your drive.

I do not have any problems burning ISO's in Vista, but needed an app to do it.  Unless you know the steps to burn an ISO in Vista and can detail them here.  When I tried, it apparently only copies the ISO as a single file, which will not run as a normal CD/DVD because the file structure and files will nor be there, just the single ISO file.  Of course, I could have done something wrong.

The ISO Recorder linked earlier works just fine and is quick, small and works as a popup menu item.

CDBurnerXP Pro is a good free program to burn ISOs. I don't know if Vista is supported though.
