Is there a way to turn off the prompts when new extension updates are available.  I want firefox to always update the extensions without prompts when I start firefox.  I frequently start firefox and then walk away from the computer and am always frustrated when I come back to a do you want to update prompt.  I hate the continue prompt after the update even more.  Just continue for crying out loud.

In the about:config there is a setting called extensions.update.enabled. I'm not sure if setting that to false would solve your issue. Might be worth a shot.

I am going to give it a shot.  I just need to remember to check to make sure my extensions are updating quietly in the background.

Update Notifier is an extension that can check for updates of your extensions (after the browser starts up) and it lets you know. It can even download and install them automatically if you want it to.

Just installed update notifier, thanks for the tip!  Sounds like just the thing I need.  Don't know why I didn't think to check for an extension, my brain was stuck on an about:config solution.
