Free or open Source Contact Manager
« on: September 19, 2008, 09:33:20 AM »
Does anyone know of a good free or open source contact manager that can be run off a flash (thumb) drive?  I am looking for something that will let me add contacts with multiple phone/fax/email fields as well as a comment field.  Also not necessary, but useful would be the ability to log conversations to the contact.

I'm not looking for an email program.  I am looking for a contact management program.
My point was that it contains an address book and is portable.

Point taken when you wrote it.  However, I just want the contact management program, which offers more than just storing addresses.  Thanks for the suggestion anyways.

The only thing that comes to my mind is EssentialPIM:

I've never used it before, but I know there is the free version. I think it does a lot more than just manage contacts as well.

Thanks Ryan I will try it out.  I loaded it up quickly and initially it looks like Outlook.
