'Google Chrome' announced
« on: September 01, 2008, 06:28:19 PM »
Google has released some details of its browser project, Google Chrome, including a fairly readable comic which I, um... haven't read yet ;)
(Robert Accettura hits the highlights.)

Update: apparently an early version is to be released September 2nd for testing. Windows-only for now, but they say OS X and Linux support will follow.

Looks like blogoscoped.com were able to get their hands on some screenshots. (The uri where they found them now redirects to the standard Google search page.)

I can't wait to see what Google Chrome is like, but I have a feeling it's going to be disappointing.

I am in the process of downloading and taking a look at this.

First thing I see I don't like is it won't import settings from Firefox, only Internet Exploiter.

It said it could import my Firefox settings if I wanted to close Firefox first, but I didn't want to. I'm surprised it didn't offer to import your Firefox settings.

I didn't have an option in the drop down. I was wondering if it could've been because I am usng the nighties (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3pre) Gecko/2008090306 Firefox 3/3.0.3pre ID:2008090306)
