Firefox sidebar too narrow
« on: August 29, 2008, 11:56:46 AM »
I had to do a complete reinstall/recovery yesterday on Windows Vista (my system was never the same after I installed that ZoneAlarm Force field App). So I've done a clean install of Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3pre) Gecko/2008082806 Firefox 3/3.0.3pre ID:2008082806) and now for some odd reason my sidebar is real narrow. I have it setup so my add-ons list will open in the sidebar. I did try adding this line to my userChrome.css but didn't seem to make difference:

Code: [Select]
#sidebar {max-width: none !important; }
I wonder if there is a conflict with something else in my userChrome.css:

Code: [Select]
/* Eliminate the throbber and its annoying movement: * /
#throbber-box {
 display: none !important;
 }

 /* Make the active tab wider */
#content tab[selected="true"] {
min-width: 200px !important;
}

.tabs-alltabs-stack {-moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important}
.tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox {-moz-box-ordinal-group: 2 !important}
.tabs-closebutton-box {-moz-box-ordinal-group: 3 !important}

/* Display the sidebar in opposite side */
#browser {
-moz-box-direction: reverse;
}

#sidebar {max-width: none !important; }

.search-go-button-stack { display: none !important; }

/* Remove the Bookmark star */
#star-button {
display: none !important; }

/* Add Next/Previous Buttons to Quick Find Bar */
#FindToolbar > * {display: -moz-box; }

So you can't grab the edge and drag it to make it bigger?

If you can't grab the edge of the sidebar there is something seriously messed up. I'm not using the Firefox 3.0 nightlies, but could it be something to do with that? I noticed you're using Firefox 3.0.3pre.

But it worked fine before I had to do the reinstall.

Okay, got it working. I had to go the top where the title bar was and I could re-size it there. I was just trying to grab it in the middle and wouldn't work.

Huh, that's interesting. I've always been able to grab it in the middle.

Haven't a clue, not sure if it is because I have it on the right (but wouldn't think that make a difference).
