Firefox 2 & Windows Vista
« on: December 24, 2006, 10:32:32 PM »
As I am working on the Firefox year in review, I noticed for Firefox 2.0.0.1 the only new feature was:

Windows Vista Support: Windows Vista is generally supported with the following caveats.

Since I am not using Windows Vista, can someone explain to me what the difference is now (compared to running 1.5 or 2.0)?

The only thing that I have noticed is when doing the upgrades it prompts me to run Firefox as an administrator so that the update can actually be installed. Before, if I didn't manually run Firefox as an administrator the update would silently fail but you wouldn't really notice. I keep UAC off by default so it was never really a problem for me anyways, but for others this is a really big deal especially if you are using nightlies that have a new version every day.
