Stop Firefox from resizing your images
« on: November 27, 2006, 10:01:11 PM »
If you want to stop Firefox from automatically resizing images when you view them just pull up the
Code: [Select]
about:config
and search for the value
Code: [Select]
browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing

Once you find that just set it to
Code: [Select]
false and you're all set.

Maybe I'll add this to the Firefox tweak guide?

Nice, now does this work for 1.5.0.X builds as well?  I'll be adding this to my 'tips' section of my blog shortly, but I do think it should go into your tweaks guide.

Yep, just checked and it is in the 1.5.X as well.

What's kinda funny is that the about:config page on Mozilla's website says:

Quote
Note: In Firefox, this can be changed via "Tools → Options → Advanced → Multimedia → Resize large images to fit in the browser window"

I don't know about you but I surely don't have a Multimedia option?

No Multimedia option on my nightly Bon Echo build, even looked over on Minefield.  I am wondering if that is from the old 1.0.X builds?

I was just checking that :)

It is from that build but not under the Multimedia section:

As was I...forgot about the 'old' options menu, like the new format so much better.  Interesting though that it use to be an option...

That is one thing I love about Portable Firefox...it is very easy to download old versions of the browser and run all of the versions side-by-side. :)

I was a little confused when I saw the options and I do like the new version better...but one thing I love about the old one is that you can resize the window. Sometimes, like in this situation, it was nice to make the window larger so that you can see them all at the same time. I wonder why no one does resizable options windows?

I didn't know that...that would be nice instead having all these profiles and only running one build at a time.  Does it need to be on flash drive though (I really need to get one...)?

Nope, I just download and run them as I need them. If you want to run multiple instances side-by-side you'll need to find the FirefoxPortable.ini file in the source folder and drag it to the location of the FirefoxPortable.exe file. Then open up the INI file and change "AllowMultipleInstances" to true. I also change the option above that one to true because that will disable the splash screen.
